Orson's operation was a success and he is now home with us! His ear looks fabulous and you can hardly see where the tumour used to be! The photo to the right shows Orson's tumour the night before the operation. As you can see from my previous entry, it had almost doubled in size in 3 weeks. Click to enlarge the pictures.
Orson is having an operation tomorrow morning at 11:45. He will be having his tumour removed from his ear. The tumour is growing at a rate of knots and will soon be so big that his quality of life will be too far reduced to make it worth carrying on. Therefore, i decided to go ahead with an operation, in spite of the risk of him not coming out of it alive.
I just have to wait (and worry) now and hope that he a) comes through the operation, b) the tumour doesn't grow back too quickly and c) he will be able to be re-united with Sapphy, his brother and cage mate.
This photo was taken 2 weeks ago and the tumour is already much larger than this now.
