Cloud has been surprisingly shy since he arrived. He darts back under his layer at sudden movements or noises. I think he has gotten used to living in a 'hamster room' rather than a living room with constant TV and other noises.
I managed to coax him out of his cage at 1am this morning. He doesn't seem like like me sticking my hand in there, which is fine; a lot of my hams don't. He happily came out onto a bridge though and had a cuddle and trot in his ball, during which he seemed comfortable and confident. I think he just needs to learn new habits for living here, such as knowing that he needs to 'ask' to come out rather than waiting for me to go over and fetch him. We don't fetch any hamsters out here (unless being cleaned); we wait until they tell us they are ready by waiting at the door. Frankly, it's just easier that way. Cloud just needs to learn to do this, but until then i think he'll need encouragement.
He is a lovely little boy and very snuggly! I can't stop admiring how gorgeous he is. He also has one of the nicest heads on a hamster that i have ever had (from a showing point of view).
