The Moolous
The Moolous were born on 13th August 2008. Their parents are Ruby and Oscar. Oscar is a long-haired sable and Ruby is a long-haired black-eyed cream satin.
Ruby gave birth between 00:00 and 02:00 to 9 babies. The babies were: 1 BEC, 2 BEC satins, 4 sables and 2 sable satins. Sadly, 5 of the pups passed away and we had remaining: 1 sable female, 1 sable male, 1 sable satin male and 1 sable satin female. The satin sable female went to live at Mythic hams and was called Pixie. She went on to have 2 litters of her own. Three of her babies, Hamish, Jock and Cloud came to live with us. The other pups from this litter remained here and were called Trixie, Hugo and Oswald. |
The Paddorchs
The Paddorchs were born on 23rd August 2008. Their parents are Paddy and Orchid. Paddy and Orchid are winter white dwarf hamsters. They are both normal carrying sapphire.
Orchid gave birth at around 7pm. There are 4 pups: 2 normal males, 1 normal female and 1 sapphire male. We kept all the pups and called them Orson, Orlando, Miniorch and Sapphy, respectively. Miniorch lives with her mother and the boys lived with their father until his passing in Jan 2009. To learn more about the pups, please refer to the Current Dwarf Hamsters page. |
The Tammleys (2 litters)
There were two litters of Tammleys born in the summer of 2006. The mother is Tammy and the father is Bailey. They are both normal (i.e. wild colour) roborovskis. These litters were not planned and were caused by a pet shop mistake in sexing. Sadly, i trusted the pet shop and did not check that my hamsters were all the same sex. By the time i discovered the first litter of Tammleys, and removed the father, Tammy was already pregnant again (dwarf hamsters mate again right after giving birth).
The first litter consisted of 7 pups, 4 males and 3 females. 2 males were re-homed and the rest of the pups remained here and were named Henry, Herbie, Chiddy, Chirpy and Fern. The second litter also contained 7 pups, 2 males and 5 females. 6 pups from this litter were re-homed and 1 female remained here, who was named Pearl and stayed with her mother Tammy. Sadly, my camera was broken when these litters were growing up and therefore I only have very poor photos, which were taken with a disposable camera. To read more about the lives of the pups we kept, please see the Past Dwarf Hamsters page. |
